Men’s Winter Style Guide | From City to Après Ski in Style
Autumn/Winter is one of our favourite seasons for fashion. We love the colours, textures and ability to layer up.
And even if you’re one of those guys who wears shorts to the bitter end, you’ll still need to invest in a good jacket, boots and accessories to get you through the colder months.
And if you’re considering a winter ski holiday, you’ll need a multi-functional winter wardrobe that’s going to effortlessly take you from city to Après Ski – without breaking the bank.
The key to winter dressing is to layer up. You don’t have to dress as if you’re ready to climb Mount Everest, although that might be helpful on the slopes! You can be stylish, comfortable, warm and on trend with a few choice items.
Here are just a few of our favourite items in store now to get you winter ready.
1. Knowledge Cotton Artic Parka
This super warm parka jacket will keep you warm through the coldest of winter months. Made with 50-70% recycled materials, this windproof, waterproof, insulated jacket is a must have and an investment that will see you through many winters to come.
2. Schott NYC Puffa
This is a classic style puffa with a modern update. This jacket can be worn in the mountains as well as in the city. Thanks to a large selection of colours, it will easily adapt to your dressing. It even has a hood hidden under the collar if you get caught in a sudden downpour – which is very likely here in Ireland!
3. Barts Wool hats
Ireland has a long association with wool headwear dating back to the 14th century and was popular with fishermen long before we adapted them as fashion items. The wool hat is something to be embraced and a great way to add some personality and street style to your look. We’re loving the bobble wool hat this season, with a great selection now in store from Barts.
4. Fleece layers
What’s not to love about a great zip up fleece? Not only can you layer them for extra warmth, but they also look great worn alone. And they don’t have to be overly functional and boring. There are some great designs and colours available this season from brands such as Knowledge Cotton and REVOLUTION to keep your wardrobe interesting and on trend. Added bonus, these are both sustainable and ethical.
5. Edwin Knits
If fleece layers aren’t your thing, then opt for a heavyweight knit that always looks stylish and smart. We have some great styles from Japanese brand Edwin.
6. Panama Jack Boots
The foundation of a great winter wardrobes is a boot that will see you through all weather conditions. These classic leather boots from Spanish brand Panama Jack, are sheepskin lined and waterproof. Your perfect cold weather companion.
